Project Overview

fabrication team has been set up in a Fabrication facility located 380km S/E of Beijing. The purpose
was to insure that all fabricated structural steel has been fabricated in accordance with BOTH Australian
and Rio Tinto specifications.

The project Team consisted of 14 personnel in total, comprising of a management team of four, QA/QC
team of five, document control, Logistics coordinator, Scheduler/Planner and Project Engineer.

The project consisted of approximately 2400 tonnes of steel made up of 1000 tonnes plate work and
1400 tonnes of structural steel. An additional focus of the Project was to minimise onsite man hours by
shop fitting of liners to chutes and bins where practical. The time line was six months and the team
successfully completed four shipments on time and within budget.
