Project Overview

This Project involved the project design and construction management of an Air Separation Unit to supply 880t/day of oxygen to the HIsmelt Pig Iron Project at Kwinana.

IPS was appointed by Air Liquide WA as Client Representative and Project Manager for the project. IPS were responsible for the development and management of local design, overall project and construction management, procurement, pre-commissioning, start up assistance and hand-over of the Air Separation Unit.

Detailed aspects included:

Negotiation and management of local procurement packages and design contracts.
Coordinating the supply and delivery of internationally procured items.
Prepare submissions to Federal Government requesting approval of tariff reduction (imported mechanical Packages) under the Enhanced Project By-laws Scheme (EPBS).
Detail and interactive planning to align the ALWA project schedule with the HIsmelt project schedule.
Documentation and management of construction contracts for civil, structural,mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works.
Overall Project Cost Control.
Budget and progress reporting.
Site construction management.
Preparation of monthly project report.

The project capital was completed within budget and on time.
