Pilbara Iron (PI) is a member of the Rio Tinto Group. It comprises nine operating mine sites, three major port load-out facilities and the largest privately owned railway line, complete with rolling stock, in the world. PI handles more than 130 million tonnes of iron ore annually.
PI has engaged IPS to provide project personnel, project control systems and project management documentation and procedures to undertake the Design, Project and Construction Management of their "minor" capital works across all PI operations. This agreement covers capital work scope packages with a nominal value between $5M and $50M. IPS is currently undertaking a number of capital work projects including supplementary feed upgrade to the West Angeles Plant, Haul Road overpass and Haul Road Tunnels for the Nammuldi site access and sustaining works at Tom Price.
